We seized the opportunity to craft a limited batch in exquisite prime Douglas Fir, renowned for its durability despite being categorised as a softwood. Don’t let its classification deceive you; Douglas Fir stands among the toughest and densest timbers available, prized for its captivating aesthetics.

Crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as our Oak Kern Planters, this limited edition version offers a lighter, contemporary aesthetic with a subtle Scandinavian influence.

Designed for versatility, the Kern Planter can be specified for indoor or outdoor use:

– Indoor finish: sealed with a subtle matte varnish to protect the timber while maintaining its natural appearance.

– Outdoor finish: treated with SiOO:X, a natural, non-toxic wood protection system that creates a consistent weathered tone while forming a durable protective barrier.

Douglas Fir boasts a bold grain pattern rarely found in other timbers. When treated with SiOO:X, this wood transforms into a stunning bleached driftwood hue, becoming a beloved favourite among our offerings.

 

All Kern Planters are supplied with our preferred 21L Eco Pots liner, ensuring both functionality and sustainability.
